Methodology

As a result of increasing national recycling targets, many councils are conducting behavioural change campaigns to increase public participation in local household recycling schemes. Business Eco has become expert in running campaigns, with successful high profile campaigns held in the London Boroughs of Brent, Richmond upon Thames , Tower Hamlets, Southwark, and Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Newham and Havering in the East London Waste Authority (ELWA). Outside London , authorities include Brentwood Borough Council, as well as Rushmoor and Basingstoke and Deane as part of the door knocking carried out for Hampshire County Council’s Project Integra.

A typical Business Eco designed campaign may consist of the following components:

• Strategic campaign planning

• A participation rate survey

• Development of a campaign design and communications strategy

• Resident attitudinal survey

• Public consultation and focus group sessions

• Recycling crew training.

Business Eco works with clients from conception to delivery. Projects are tailored to meet the needs of budget, survey size and to comply with government and WRAP guidelines and statutory requirements.
