Door Knocking

A key area of any behavioural change campaign is that of direct contact with residents. An effective way of achieving this is through door-to-door activities. Residents are approached on an individual basis where the reasons for recycling and the provisions of the service are explained.

Business Eco has developed door-to-door activities in some of the lowest and highest performing areas of the country, generating success after success.

Door knocking activities have seen Business Eco targeting their half millionth resident on 21st October 2005. Currently, over 650,000 households have been door knocked. This includes long-term partnerships with local authorities, such as the London Boroughs of Richmond, Brent, Southwark, Newham, Redbridge and Barking and Dagenham. Commitment to best value performance from tested and proven methodologies, Business Eco is the first choice for many local authorities striving to meet national recycling targets. Business Eco’s strive for continued innovation has lead to the management of the largest behavioural change campaign in London with the East London Waste Authority, producing results that have shown the highest recycling collections ever seen by the constituent boroughs. Business Eco is currently committed to further door knocking activities and has been able to secure long term partnerships through innovation and adaptability.

Business Eco believes the success of the campaign is through the output on the doorstep and recruits to a high standard. The campaigners are trained to ensure that the message they are delivering meets the quality standards of both Business Eco and the client.

Data handling is through PDA and is downloaded to head office on a daily basis. Results are checked and updates to the client can be made instantaneously.

Business Eco has built its track record of door knocking over three years and has developed this communication technique to provide high standards and achieve excellent results.
